Milk it does….NOT!

Milk is not the ideal way to meet your daily calcium needs!

When people start working with us in programs like our 6-week 20-pound Challenge they’re often shocked when we tell them to cut dairy from their diet.

NOTE: Many people are dairy sensitive and don’t realize it so they see a lot of positive benefits when they eliminate it… Not to mention, the excess sugar intake that comes with dairy consumption!

And here’s another interesting tidbit – blood sugar that is chronically elevated (most Americans) increases the activity of cells that break down bone and therefore reduces bone density. In other words, the sugar in milk pretty much negates the benefits you’re getting from the calcium!

It’s not about how much calcium we are taking in but rather how much we are absorbing and retaining.

That’s why the United States has one of the highest rates of osteoporosis in the world, despite having one of the highest calcium intakes.

By the way, calcium is important for much more than bone density…

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body and is vital to life.

Calcium is needed by all tissues in the body. It is crucial for nerve conduction, muscle contraction, and heartbeat.* Calcium plays a vital role in the transduction of nerve impulses throughout the body.* It also has been shown to affect pressure within blood vessels and maintain healthy blood flow and circulation.* Calcium supports numerous regulatory functions in the body, and assists in the absorption of other nutrients.* Calcium promotes cell membrane permeability, helping make it easier for the passage of compounds in and out of cells.*

Oh, and calcium is one of the first elements in the body to go out of balance when the diet is inadequate!

Now, here’s an interesting thing about calcium supplementation…

For maximum benefit calcium should be combined with magnesium in a 2:1 ratio (2 parts magnesium to 1 part calcium). Eniva Cal-Mag combines these minerals in the correct ratio.

In proper balance, the body better absorbs and assimilates the calcium it needs. By having calcium and magnesium in one balanced solution, Eniva ensures that you’ll deliver your body the maximum benefits from both minerals.

Side Note: I covered magnesium in yesterday’s newsletter titled: Goodbye headaches!

Combine the calcium-magnesium combo with Eniva’s Solutomic® formula (An aqueous, submicron form of mineral ions in pure water) and you get enhanced absorption and body use.

Now that’s a 1-2+ punch! 😀

By the way, if you have questions about WHICH you should take (Magnesium or Cal-Mag) shoot me an email and we’ll figure it out together…
