Well, today’s my 44th birthday…
I’m actually not really big on birthdays.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m not down on them in any way. I certainly have no issue with getting a year older; I actually kinda like that. :-).
I just don’t need to take a day off or go shopping or eat cake. It’s just not my thing.
However, being someone who is into goal setting and achievement, I do like the annual check-in. It’s also really good timing because it’s right after the first quarter so it’s another reminder to check-in on my goals for the year.
Anyway, as I was thinking about what to write about today the cliche 44 Lessons I Learned Along the Way idea came up, but, quite frankly, I don’t want to think that hard or write that much, and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to read all that. ;-b.
So, how about just 4?
Here are 4 really important lessons I’ve learned along the way:
- You have to put on your own oxygen mask first. While this is true on planes it’s also critical in life.
- You become your environment. Also stated as you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
- The things that are most important to you will show up in your calendar and your checkbook (bank/credit card statement).
- You get to choose…
We could go real deep on that last one. Maybe Janell and I will do that on an upcoming episode of The Transformation Show.
In the meantime, I’ll close, as I always do, with my favorite (and trademarked ;-b) saying…
HAVE FAITH & TAKE ACTION!
